About the role
This role runs a 100,000-bird poultry and piggery farm in Ghana and is responsible for growing it tenfold. The person oversees operations, people, the budget and market growth, and plans the strategy for expansion. They manage the day-to-day running of the poultry and livestock operations, handle the marketing and sales of farm products, and make sure animal welfare and regulatory requirements are met. They also keep a strong working relationship with the Board.
What you will do
- Develop and implement strategic plans to grow the business
- Oversee daily poultry and livestock operations efficiently
- Manage the annual budget, marketing and sales of farm products
- Ensure animal welfare, regulatory compliance and strong Board relations
What we are looking for
- A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science or a related field (a Master’s is an advantage)
- 15+ years’ experience in agriculture, with 5+ in senior management
- Proven experience managing poultry or livestock operations
- Strong financial management, marketing and sales acumen
- Leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
