About the role
e are recruiting a Head of Legal for a leading micro finance company in Ghana. You will lead the legal function and act as the trusted adviser to the Board and management on corporate, contractual and regulatory matters. You will make sure the company complies with Bank of Ghana and other regulatory requirements, oversee loan documentation and security perfection, and manage recovery proceedings, litigation and disputes, working with external counsel where needed. This is a senior role for a lawyer who can protect the business while supporting its growth.
What you will do
- Advise the Board and management on corporate, contractual and regulatory matters
- Ensure compliance with Bank of Ghana and other regulatory requirements
- Oversee loan documentation, security perfection and recovery proceedings
- Manage litigation, disputes and external counsel
What we are looking for
- LLB degree and call to the Bar in Ghana
- 8+ years’ post-call experience, including a senior legal role (financial services preferred)
- Strong knowledge of lending, security and regulatory law
- Experience in corporate governance, and contract drafting and negotiation
- Strong leadership, advisory and communication skills
