About the role
The Head of Accounting Department is a senior Accounting department role in Ghana, responsible for independently running the whole accounting function from start to finish. The post holder prepares and reviews financial statements and manages month-end and year-end closing, supervises budgets and monitors financial performance, manages payables, receivables and daily bank reconciliations, and ensures tax compliance while coordinating with auditors. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Accounting (CMA or MBA is a plus), 5 to 7 years of accounting experience including a supervisory role, strong proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle or QuickBooks, advanced Excel skills, and strong leadership, organisation and attention to detail.

What we are looking for
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Accounting (CMA or MBA is a plus)
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of accounting experience, including a supervisory role
- Technical knowledge: Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills
- Behavioural traits: Strong leadership, organisation and attention to detail
